Responsibilities

The Hines Institutional Investor Solution Team is searching for an Analyst to become a member of the European team. The Institutional Investor Solutions Team is a global team within the Hines Investment Management arm. The Analyst will work in support of a variety of functions of the team, principally equity capital raising from institutional investors based in the DACH-region for Hines real estate funds and joint ventures globally, and structuring of those investment vehicles. There are also marketing and research activities that the Analyst will have direct responsibility for, when established in the role. The Analyst will report to and support the capital raising team in Germany. It is an entry level position, suitable for either a recent graduate or a person with up to two years’ industry experience looking to transition into a capital markets position. The role will be based in Hines’ office in Munich or Dusseldorf, and will involve some national and international travel. It will provide exposure to all of Hines’ investment strategies, and a wide variety of investment vehicles. At any one time Hines is raising capital for a significant number of funds, separate accounts and joint ventures, to the scale of several billion Euros each year globally. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Supporting the Institutional Investor Solutions Team in all aspects of equity capital raising, structuring and responding to requests from existing and prospective investors
  • Assist with the expansion of the firm’s European institutional investor base (with a focus on the DACH-region) through researching new investors and developing existing and new relationships through cold calling
  • Assist with raising specific funds; this work extends to the coordination of concept papers, internal approvals materials and external pitching materials, as well as marketing activities and investor due diligence requests
  • Monitoring capital markets trends, investor requirements and assisting strategy development for new fund and separate account strategies
  • Internal communication of capital markets activities/requirements and co-ordination with various teams, within Investment Management and the local platform
  • Communications with external investors to arrange specific meetings and events
  • Analysis and dissemination of internal and external research knowledge

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the relevant fields of finance and economics or related disciplines
  • 0-2 years work experience preferably in a client facing role
  • Attention to detail and precision in all work, especially written material for external consumption
  • Diligence, perseverance, initiative and resourcefulness to deliver effective and accurate work in an environment of autonomy and entrepreneurialism.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently on simultaneous projects, prioritize and work quickly to a high standard under time pressure
  • Presentable, confident personality with exceptional integrity, able to interact directly with our firm’s investors and represent our values
  • Positive energy and contribution to team spirit
  • Ambition to work and develop professionally at one of the foremost real estate companies globally
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • German language with excellent level in English
  • Interest in real estate
  • Some work experience (sector not relevant) as intern / working student
