Responsibilities

Hines Luxembourg Investment Management Sarl is looking to hire a Finance Director. Ancillary responsibilities may include accounting leadership for other on-going and new investment management business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

The role is based in Luxembourg.

 

  • Review quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and investor reporting in accordance with IFRS and INREV reporting requirements

  • Oversee the completion of all Lux GAAP statutory reporting requirements

  • Review all schedules and supplementary information required by investor side letter arrangements and consultant requests

  • Reconcile accounting results to cash basis for portfolio management

  • Review project models and reconcile with the accounting packages

  • Liaise with auditors and tax advisors on all transactions and technical reporting matters

  • Coordinate with country teams to ensure compliance with internal and external reporting deadlines

  • Coordinate response to all investor related requests

  • Assist the fund team in the evaluation of accounting impact for potential deals and transactions

  • Manage all capital call and distributions requests and calculations

  • Coordination of board activities

  • Participation on boards and be a board member

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local Hines teams for transactions and asset management collaboration of all kinds

  • General support of senior team members in decision-making and execution

  • Assisting with the constant refining of internal investment and asset management processes including ensuring accuracy of fund data and records

  • Supervise and coach a team of accountant

  • Support the co-ordination and review of the fund’s quarterly independent valuations

  • Marketing, capital raising, closing and documentation process for new investors

  • Be a member of the valuation committee of the Fund and its assets.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • University degree with an emphasis in accounting, business or economics

  • CPA or ACCA qualifications (or equivalent)

  • Manager level experience with a Big 4 accounting firm or manager level experience with a rapidly growing real estate firm

  • Five or more years in a similar position

  • Experience with real estate acquisitions and tax structuring

  • Highly numerate with a strong skillset in representing the concepts of real estate investment accurately and efficiently in Excel form.

  • Understanding of the conceptual framework of real estate investment and investment management more broadly

  • Experience and understanding of AIFM reporting and regulatory requirements

  • Strong understanding of the MS Office suite, most particularly Excel, but also PowerPoint and Word.

  • Excellent communication skills with confident fluency in written and spoken English. Other languages are not required, but other European languages would be beneficial

  • Team player

  • Ability to relate well to other people at all levels, internally and externally. Culturally sensitive. Display passion and energy, creating a positive working environment

  • Pro-active, self-motivated and adept at using own initiative to be most effective

  • Exceptional confidence, independence and interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment
