Responsibilities

As a Senior Analyst with Hines, you will be responsible for financial modeling, research, and analytical support associated with land acquisitions and master-planned residential lot development projects. Provide project managerial support for existing projects in the Denver market and support for other markets as needed. This position will be reporting to a Managing Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Perform financial analysis of acquisitions and development opportunities via financial modeling, analysis of cash flows, analysis of return and project sensitivities, and application of valuation methods using Microsoft Excel.

  • Assist with due diligence process associated with acquisitions by performing document control, due diligence, developing underwriting assumptions, verifying, and establishing projections or other duties as assigned.

  • Participate in the support of existing projects including market research, analyzing builder home sales data, completing, and distributing project reporting requirements and administration of investor & bank requirements.

  • Monitor project budgets and schedules for significant variances. Work with Accounting team on financials.

  • Prepare investment committee proposals for new projects under consideration including presentation materials and graphic requirements.

  • Serve as liaison and monitor the flow of information regarding the project interested parties including investors, bankers, contractors, architects, and city personnel.

  • Participate in the support of development projects including feasibility analysis, entitlement processes, financing, design, lot closings, homeowners’ associations, contracting, and construction management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Two or more years related experience in real estate or in a financial analysis role (single family residential land development preferred).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office software with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Advanced excel skills required for detailed cash flow models.

  • Analyze real estate and industry trends from a strategic point of view; Analyze and interpret various types of data in order to draw conclusions and solve problems.

  • Perform numerical and financial calculations and analysis.

  • Exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions or solutions.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Think creatively and contribute to project success.

  • Successfully manage a variety of tasks within a tight time schedule.

  • Demonstrate strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

  • Interact with employees, visitors and business partners with poise and diplomacy.

  • Ability to handle a very stressful, high-pressure atmosphere.

  • Establish and maintain a cooperative working atmosphere among staff.

  • Ability to leverage technology and the internet to perform all job functions at the highest level.

  • Work indoors majority of the time and outdoors as required for regular site visits and project review

  • Ability to withstand long working hours, which are frequently necessary.

  • Ability to walk around project sites under construction to review progress.

  • Ability to travel to and from destinations by plane and/or car.

  • Ability to visually review and read correspondence, reports, etc.

  • Ability to handle very stressful, high-pressure atmosphere.

  • Compensation: $99,900 - $108,000
