Responsibilities

As a DEI Intern with Hines, you will gain hands-on experience by working with committees, individuals, and the DEI team to maximize the impact of related program delivery. In addition, the DEI intern will work with company Employee Resource Groups and on the myMentoring platform, help drive content for the OneHines website, contribute to DEI learning content and help facilitate other engagement events as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

 

  • Support DEI program-related events, education and awareness engagements

  • Partner with the DEI team to advance Hines’ ERG presence and contribute to the team’s short- and longer-term strategies and priorities

  • Work with DEI Lead to develop effective communication strategy and tactics to enhance the overall awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion across the firm

  • Support the development and maintenance of DEI toolkits, websites, best practices, and resources

  • Participate on special projects and teams geared toward fit-for-purpose DEI solutions and programs

  • Advise and respond to ad hoc requests, data reporting and analysis as needed

  • Partner with team administrative support to process related expenses and invoicing

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include: 

 

  • Students from any academic discipline will be considered; however, an interest in the field of DEI is required

  • Current Sophomores and Juniors will be considered along with Seniors who will be immediately entering a graduate program

  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt style according to the audience and collaborate closely with stakeholders

  • Highly organized, self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and growth

  • Resilient and able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to pull together presentations and present information succinctly

  • Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint skills

  • Able to work flexibly in-order to meet deadlines

  • Comfort with public speaking
