Responsibilities

As the Senior or Lead Application Support Specialist with Hines, you will be responsible for providing support for both domestic and international users of the Hines financial systems. The candidate will act as the first phase support. Awareness of the Hines business verticals and interacting with networking and infrastructure teams to support the users holistically will be key components to success.

 

This position is a member of Application Support Team reporting directly to the Director, Integrated Technology Solutions and Support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Provide end-user support for both domestic and international users of the Hines financial systems, assisting with application-related challenges
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders
  • Support the set-up of new companies, business units and charts of accounts in the financial systems
  • Coach and train end users with respect to financial system functionality around Lease Management, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, ASC 842 (FASB) and multi-currency
  • Assist with live classroom and webinar training for financial system users
  • Assist with end user training curricula
  • Collaborate with Information Technology to develop goals, objectives and priorities for Hines financial systems to ensure that the needs of internal clients are met
  • Anticipate, research, report and act on processes to improve and maintain system consistency and enhance end-users' experience
  • Train and mentor new team members on Hines processes within and outside of the financial system

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • Five or more years' related experience
  • Two or more years' accounting experience
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused approach to support
  • Maintain a calm demeanor
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Compose training materials, business letters, summaries, and reports
  • Speak before an audience with confidence, using appropriate communication skills/style
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and customer service orientation
  • Exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions
  • Perform numerical and financial calculations
  • Analyze and interpret several types of data in order to draw conclusions and solve problems
  • Demonstrate proficiency in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne – specifically Lease Management, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and multi-currency
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work flexible schedules outside normal business hours when required
  • Knowledge of multi-family ERP systems such as Entrata and Yardi
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate financial processes
  • Experience with retail accounting, percentage rent and sales overage calculations
