Responsibilities

*Title will depend upon candidate’s experience and qualifications*

 

As a Senior Analyst or Associate – Debt Capital Markets with Hines, you will assist with debt financing strategy and execution across Americas Region, supporting Hines Corporate, Funds, Separate Accounts and Direct investments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Coordinate with internal fund management, development and acquisition teams and third-party investors throughout the lifecycle of debt transactions

  • Coordinate components of pitching, structuring, pricing and syndication of loan transactions; aiding in key meeting preparation, follow up and ultimate execution

  • Coordinate preparation of high-quality marketing materials, such as debt offering memorandums and lender presentations

  • Develop an understanding of a wide range of debt products including subscription facilities, senior debt, construction debt, bridge and mezzanine loans for acquisitions, refinancing, development and recapitalization of single assets, portfolios and development projects

  • Prepare financial analysis to compare alternative financing options and hedging strategies

  • Lead lender due diligence, review of loan documentation and closing processes on behalf of borrower entities; coordinate with internal and external legal counsel

  • Lead in preparation of internal market updates including quarterly reports, research and analysis of debt capital markets, market participants and credit offerings

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution, advanced degree in business or finance a plus

  • 2+ years (Senior Analyst) or 4+ years (Associate) experience in debt capital markets

  • Strong preference for experience working for a lending institution, financial intermediary, or real estate investment manager

  • Strong understanding of real estate markets, finance and debt products

  • Collaborative and team-oriented; ability and desire to work closely with internal and external parties, including brokers and legal counsel to procure and execute debt transactions

  • Strong in asset-based lending and/or other commercial finance transactions

  • Demonstrated understanding of the financial markets, corporate finance and financial accounting

  • Professional work ethic, highly self-motivated and positive attitude

  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external working relationships

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Work indoors majority of the time

  • Work overtime as business needs deem appropriate
