Responsibilities

As a Compliance Manager with Hines, you will be responsible for communicating, driving, and proactively monitoring compliance with all applicable international, national, federal, and state laws, regulations. Policy directives and ethical requirements. This position will be responsible for various Hines domestic and international regions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

Compliance System

  • Conduct monthly meetings with software developer to:

    • Review outstanding tickets

    • Discuss upcoming system updates

    • Receive updates on new products and features

  • Troubleshoot and advise on high-level issues prior to submitting help desk tickets

  • Create and issue attestations for other departments

  • Update annual and quarterly certifications as needed (requires coding)

  • Develop rules for module approval flows (may involve coding or coordination with software IT)

  • Prepare the system for upgrades to the latest version

  • Review and approve quarterly certifications

  • Create and manage user groups, including static/dynamic configurations

  • Respond to internal IT inquiries related to the system

Internal System

  • Provide technical support for the system
  • Respond to internal IT questions regarding functionality and integration

Vendor Due Diligence

  • Conduct and document due diligence for all new vendors
  • Respond to due diligence requests
  • Review agreements for potential new investors

Marketing Material Oversight

  • Review marketing materials for compliance

  • Manage invoicing for marketing software

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
  • Five or more years of compliance experience is preferred
  • Five or more years of real estate industry or broker/dealer experience required
  • FINRA Series Exams 7 and 24 or be willing to complete within 12 months
  • Work indoors approximately 100% of the time
  • Travel up to 30% both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to lift general ledgers, files, records, and computer paper (approximately 5-35 lbs.)
  • Work overtime as business needs deem appropriate
