Responsibilities

The Senior Manager / Director – Enterprise is part of the Global Public Relations team, which is responsible for executing the company’s media and public relations strategy.

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Public Relations, the Senior Manager / Director will work proactively and independently across the firm’s communications initiatives globally, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader marketing and communications goals and overall business objectives.

The Senior Manager / Director will support public relations outreach on Hines’ Enterprise-level initiatives, including the execution of high-profile, impactful storytelling moments, corporate announcements and securing media coverage on key thought leadership topics and high-conviction themes for the firm’s management committee, in line with the firm’s strategic narrative.

 

This role works closely with colleagues in the Global Public Relations team on firmwide Public Relations initiatives, and to deliver comprehensive media monitoring, reporting, and analysis to inform communications strategies and ensure consistent, insight-driven execution, leveraging tools such as Meltwater.

 

The role will embrace Hines’ preferred tech platforms, including Monday.com and ChatGPT, to ensure efficient ways of working and close collaboration across the Public Relations Team, Global Communications teams, and wider Marketing & Communications department.

 

The role is part of the firm’s Global follow-the-sun Press Office function, managing and responding to incoming and outgoing media enquiries and opportunities, working closely with team members across Hines offices globally to ensure a consistent and best-in-class 24/7 operating model.

 

This role sits within the Public Relations Team and works in close collaboration with the wider Global Communications team, including integrated communications and social media, internal communications, events, and thought leadership.

 

Public Relations Strategy and Execution:

  • Support execution of the global, strategic public relations plan to amplify the company’s brand visibility and position the firm as a thought leader in the industry.

  • Lead on corporate announcements to build Hines’ brand using channels including press releases, media days and briefings to ensure consistency and alignment with brand messaging.

  • Proactively seek and secure opportunities for media coverage by pitching, newsjacking and utilizing trusted media relationships to position Hines executives within stories that amplify the firm’s reputation among key stakeholder groups.

  • Act as a trusted partner to internal teams, aligning public relations efforts with broader marketing and corporate strategies.

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for incoming media inquiries, ensuring accurate and timely responses.

  • Support the Public Relations Team and local teams to prepare executive leadership for regional media engagements across the world, including interviews, press conferences, and public statements.

  • In collaboration with the Public Relations Team, develop and maintain a comprehensive database of media contacts and foster relationships that enhance access to high-impact coverage opportunities.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for op-eds, feature articles, and speaking engagements that showcase the company’s expertise and innovation on behalf of the Management Committee and other senior spokespeople

Data-Driven Workflows, Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilize Meltwater and other analytics tools to monitor media coverage, track campaign performance, and measure the effectiveness of public relations strategies.
  • Working in collaboration with the rest of the team to create and maintain accurate monitoring and reporting on the firm’s media footprint – including:
    o Reporting on performance in relation to key reporting metrics (SOV, LLM profile).
    o Tracking issues, crises, and other business-critical media coverage globally.
  • Support the creation of regular reports to senior leadership, providing insights into media sentiment, public relations ROI, and recommendations for ongoing improvements.
  • Use Hines’ tech platform (Monday.com) to ensure comprehensive and accurate tracking of the public relations function’s work and projects, and Hines’ global relationship network with key media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications, ideally within regulated industries such as investment management, real estate, or financial services. Proven experience managing public relations agencies, executing data-driven reporting, and supporting or leading large-scale initiatives like ambassador programs.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives. Strong media relations skills, with the ability and willingness to build a network of journalist contacts across target publications.

  • Proficiency in public relations analytics platforms like Meltwater to assess performance and inform strategies.
  • Collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.
