Responsibilities

This role will report directly to family office senior leadership (Directors) and will be responsible for delivering timely financial insights that support strategic decision-making.

 

This role is also responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial reporting, treasury management, and investment operations of an embedded family office. This individual will provide operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of entities, trusts, private investments, and personal assets while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and service. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

Financial & Tax Reporting

  • Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for multiple entities, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, and investment structures.
  • Direct both ad hoc and recurring accounting process, while ensuring transactions are recorded timely and accurately in the general ledgers.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and customized reports for principals and leadership, while also project managing the compilation and reviews of all annual reports.
  • Develop meaningful financial analyses to support investment, liquidity, and strategic planning decisions.
  • Coordinate with internal tax team to provide accurate and complete accounting records for tax reporting purposes.
  • Support tax planning initiatives by providing accurate financial information and analysis.
  • Oversee tax payments and ensure they are processed and captured in the general ledgers in a timely manner.
  • Assist management with execution of wealth preservation and succession planning initiatives.
  • Support various family office specific financial transactions, and special projects as needed.

Treasury & Liquidity Management

  • Prepare short and long-term liquidity forecasts to support spending activity and principals’ obligations.
  • Approve and oversee wire transfers, capital funding, debt servicing, and other treasury transactions.
  • Oversee daily cash reconciliations and recommend strategies to improve cash utilization while maintaining appropriate liquidity.
  • Liaise with the cash management team to resolve any issues that may arise with treasury reporting or wires.

Investment Operations & Portfolio Reporting

  • Oversee accounting for marketable securities, private equity, real estate, and other alternative investments.
  • Coordinate capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions, and investment documentation.
  • Support investment due diligence by reviewing financial information, fund documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Review investment reconciliations against investment statements and performance reporting.

Other

  • Coordinate with external advisors, investment managers, attorneys, and internal parties that support the family office.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, technology, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Mentor accounting staff and foster a positive work environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. Master's degree in Accounting, or Finance is a plus.

  • CPA designation required.

  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.

  • Experience within a family office is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with trusts, estate structures, partnerships, and private investments is highly desirable.

  • Prior experience leading projects, managing advisor relationships, or supervising staff.

  • Experience with treasury management and cash forecasting.

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.

  • Exceptional integrity and commitment to confidentiality.

  • A polished presence with the ability to communicate effectively with family principals and trusted advisors.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Collaborative leadership style with a service-oriented mindset.

  • Continuous improvement mentality with a focus on operational excellence and process automation.
