    Responsibilities

    As a Business Systems Analyst with Hines, you will analyze, develop, implement and support IT business solutions within Hines Securities, Inc. (HSI). Specifically, this position is responsible for and/or involved in a broad range of activities including opportunity recognition, IT project development and direct involvement in implementation and support. This position holds responsibility for supporting installed application and reporting solutions, as well as development for all organization-specific computer systems and IT solutions.

    Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

     

    • Utilize analytical skills to effectively integrate IT and evaluate alternative solutions to facilitate operational excellence within the organization and with its customers, vendors and business partners.
    • Analyze, design and implement business solutions that will facilitate cross-functional collaboration while fulfilling near-term IT objectives.
    • Work with business personnel and knowledge experts to implement business solutions that meet the needs and concerns of all HSI functional areas
    • Utilize an Agile Software Development methodology to deliver value to the organization in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Communicate regularly with user community personnel to assure that efforts are properly aligned with the needs of the organization.
    • Follow the strategic directions of the HSI IT architecture and Hines Central IT in the implementation of new applications and business solutions.
    • Maintain the highest standards of data quality, integrity and security.
    • Make efficient use of available resources and technology to meet organizational objectives.
    • Provide administration and production application support for: HSI integrated reporting database, Ad hoc and custom data queries as requested by all functional areas, External data exchange partners, Cross-functional internal data exchange and Salesforce.com (CRM)
    • Serve as the primary programmer for new application development projects, Enhancement initiatives, Additional data integration processes, Additional external data exchange processes, Additional internal data exchange processes, Application testing and data validation and production system deployment
    • Create and maintain technical documentation including application support documentation, file specifications, functional requirements and data mappings

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements include:

     

    • Bachelors’ degree from an accredited institution
    • Five or more years of experience in the field or in a related area
    • A good understanding of data management, integrity, security and privacy issues gained through two or more combined years of hands-on Database Administrator (DBA) experience in a Microsoft SQL-Server environment, including development experience utilizing Extraction, Translation and Load (ETL) software tools.
    • Experience with diverse IT projects and a wide range of programming technologies
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and complex technology solutions to meet the needs of a complex, dynamic and growing business environment
    • A highly-technical programming and application support background
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the capability to effectively work with personnel in all areas and levels of the organization and bridge between technical and business areas
