    The Senior Corporate Counsel, Real Estate will report to the Vice President – Head of Legal and serve as lead transaction counsel for acquisitions/dispositions, management agreements, real estate management agreements and other similar real estate transactions.   Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


    • Act as lead in negotiating, drafting and closing purchase and sale, joint venture, management agreements, project financing and other transaction agreements with minimal outside counsel support
    • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with Hines Central and Regional business groups to serve as a centrally-located trusted resource for legal issues
    • Specialized knowledge as to contract, corporate, joint venture and partnership law and the ability to provide counsel to management and business developers as to acquisition strategy and process and deal structure
    • Assist with other non-real estate corporate and business contracts to support Hines’ business needs
    • Directly manage and provide ongoing training/mentorship to junior attorneys and legal administrative staff
    • Provide proactive legal and practical business advice to internal clients, including sound risk assessment regarding transactions
    • Interface with numerous departments and functions within the Company to work effectively and provide a high-level of service to clients and business partners


    Minimum Requirements include:


    • J.D. degree from an accredited law school
    • Eight or more years of transactional real estate experience at a prestigious law firm or combination of presitigous law firm and in-house experience
    • Solid experience leading/managing real estate transactions
    • Experience managing other counsel preferred

    • Solid academic credentials from a top tier U.S. law school and strong academic record preferred

    • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas

    • Highly confident and articulate individual

    • Self-motivated, self-sufficient and enthusiastic individual who is a team player
